USIM Open Science

USIM Open Science Initiative

History

The Open Science initiative at USIM reflects the university’s commitment to making research more transparent, accessible, and impactful for both the academic community and society at large. Introduced in 2022, the initiative builds on USIM’s earlier Open Access efforts and marks a strategic shift towards a more inclusive and collaborative research ecosystem.

The implementation of Open Science at USIM is guided by a structured framework that includes policy development, capacity building, and institutional coordination. Awareness and training programmes are conducted to equip researchers, academics, and students with the necessary knowledge and skills, while clear guidelines ensure that ethical standards, data integrity, and intellectual property rights are upheld.

Through this initiative, USIM aims to foster a culture of openness and ethical responsibility, positioning itself in line with global best practices while contributing meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge and societal well-being.
