Open Educational Resources
History
The Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia is part of its broader Open Science and knowledge-sharing agenda, aimed at making teaching and learning materials freely accessible, reusable, and adaptable by educators, students, and the public.

OER at USIM refers to educational materials that are openly available online, such as:
- Lecture notes and modules
- E-books and course materials
- Multimedia content (videos, slides, tutorials)

The OER initiative at USIM aims to:
Enhance access to quality educational materials for all
Reduce the cost of learning resources for students
Promote innovative teaching and learning practices
Support lifelong learning and community engagement
Increase the visibility of USIM’s academic content globally
